Empowering Scholars for College Success

We are a public charter school, dedicated to delivering a high-quality education that prepares scholars for college success. With a focus on literacy and math and an extended school day for deeper learning, we create an environment where every scholar can thrive. Our joyful, structured culture, grounded in core values, fosters both academic and personal growth. By partnering with families, recruiting exceptional teachers, and utilizing data-driven strategies, RISE Prep is committed to providing an education that empowers scholars to achieve their fullest potential.

To put scholars on the path to college, RISE Prep creates and implements a rigorous college preparatory academic curriculum for each new grade, rooted in the Common Core Standards and relentlessly driving toward the strong early foundation. Our teachers provide triple the traditional instructional time in literacy in grades K-3, and double the instructional time in grades 4-8. RISE Prep provides additional instructional time in math in all subjects at all grades, and focuses on the mastery of foundational skills leading to the conceptual understanding and application necessary to excel as scholars move throughout elementary school and prepare for middle school.

CORE
VALUES

RESPECT

We are kind to and supportive of others and know that every person is worthy of dignity.

INTEGRITY

We do the right thing even when no one is looking, because it is the right thing to do, and that is who we are.

SELF-DETERMINATION

We know that hard work makes anything possible and we never give up.

EXCELLENCE

We give everything our very best, and know that excellence is a learned habit.

CULTURE OF JOY & EXCELLENCE

RISE Prep has a joy-infused culture of high expectations, urgency, and discipline with an emphasis on demonstration of the RISE values- Respect, Integrity, Self-determination, and Excellence. Clear systems, routines, structures, and discipline allow all scholars to focus on learning and support all scholars to do their best at all times.

RISE Prep recruits and develops excellent teachers who consistently create, deliver, and sustain a rigorous curriculum and a joy-infused, structured school culture aligned with its mission and vision. To drive academic success, RISE Prep recruits committed and capable teachers and invests deeply in their development.

CREATE TIME FOR MORE LEARNING

Our day is longer than that of traditional public schools to allow more time for instruction necessary for dramatically improved outcomes. The school provides scholars with approximately two additional hours of instruction per day to remediate gaps, challenge, and support all scholars in meeting and exceeding grade level expectations as demonstrated by rigorous national assessments. The extended day (7:40 am-3:25 pm) allows time to teach RISE values and celebrate academic and character growth daily and weekly.

PARTNER WITH FAMILIES & COMMUNITIES

RISE Prep Academies is privileged to serve the families of Woonsocket, North Smithfield, and Burrillville and are honored to partner with its families to ensure that all scholars are supported on their journey to college. Teachers conduct Meet & Greets with every family in their class each year; school leadership holds annual Parent Orientations to welcome new families; RISE Prep families have built a Family Leadership Council to host events and fundraisers; teachers send daily behavioral reports to all families; and RISE Prep holds Family/Teacher Conferences.

Above all else, RISE Prep Academies know that consistent and transparent communication about scholars’ progress academically and socially creates a strong and lasting partnership between schools and families.
