Teachers at RISE Prep will:
● Implement ambitious, rigorous, and standards-aligned curricula, lesson plans and activities grounded in the CCSS and RISE Prep’s scope and sequences to meet and exceed academic standards
● Implement rigorous assessments aligned to academic targets
● Provide engaging, differentiated, appropriately paced, and rigorous instruction in whole-class, small
group, and individual settings
● Establish and maintain a culture of achievement in their classroom; uphold school-wide and class
systems, rules and consequences, and rewards at all times
● Hold high expectations for academic achievement and growth and behavior at all times

Qualifications
RISE Prep is committed to finding dedicated, hard-working educators for every classroom. We will consider candidates who:
● Be of good character;
● Have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (associates and/or bachelors degree is preferred)
● All applicants must meet the RI Paraprofessional Standards (Education and certification) or be willing to complete the requirements within 1 year of employment
● Hold or be able to attain Safety Care Certification within 1 year of employment, if applicable
Associates degree in education or related field preferred but not required. All applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED
● All applicants must meet the RI Paraprofessional Standards (Education and certification) or be willing to complete the requirements within 1 year of employment
● Must be CPI certified or be willing to get certified within 1 year of employment, if applicable
● A commitment to working with a diverse student and staff population
● Bilingual candidates preferred
Responsibilities
The primary role of a Paraprofessional is to assist students in the General Education and/or Special Education setting with behavior and academic support in the classroom. This staff member is an integral part of the educational team by providing the support that teachers and students need as requested by their manager or coach.
Specific roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
● Maintain collaboration and professional communication with both general and special education teachers to ensure daily behavior and academic supports and to maximize instructional time
● Maintain confidentiality of information concerning scholars and families
● Monitor and support the use of special modifications or accommodations for scholars with disabilities
● Work with scholars individually or in small groups to reinforce content initially introduced by the teacher
● Assist teachers with both instructional and non-instructional related tasks including timely completion of any assigned administrative or operational tasks
● Maintain Safety Care Certification, if applicable
● Support school-wide needs as assigned and identified by the Principal or designee
● Provide additional scholar-specific supports and assistance as outlined in their IEP

Starting salary for the role of Paraprofessional is $37,644. Final salary will be determined by years of experience and education.
