How to Apply for 2024-2025 School Year

Post-lottery enrollment applications for the 2024-25 school year are now open. All post-lottery applications will be added to our waitlist in the order they are received.

How are scholars selected?

Enrollment is based on a random, public lottery. Each year, we welcome a new class of kindergarten scholars. The number of open seats for 1st-9th grade will depend on the number of current scholars who return next year.

Who is eligible to apply?

Children residing in Woonsocket, North Smithfi eld, and Burrillville are welcome to apply for RISE Prep Lower School for grades K-8. Children residing in Woonsocket and Burrillville are welcome to apply for RISE Prep Upper Academy for ninth grade.

RISE Prep, like all charter schools in Rhode Island, is a FREE PUBLIC school that is open to ALL students, regardless of prior academic achievement, special education need, or primary language

How do I apply to enroll my child?

To apply for the 2024-25 school year, please click on the “Apply Online” link at the top of this page to access the enrollment application.

When is the lottery? How do I know my child's lottery results?

The lottery for all RI charter schools will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024. Please log into your EnrollRI account to view the status of your application.

How are charter schools funded in Rhode Island?

Charter schools in Rhode Island, like all public schools, receive state and local funding based on specific formulas. They can also get federal funds, including money from Title programs, IDEA, and Medicaid.
